Brand pitch email template

Getting started: documents · Document 7 · By Ayush Panda · 21 October 2026 · 2 min read

The short answerA good brand pitch is short, specific to that brand, and leads with an idea rather than a request. Say who you are in one line, why your audience fits theirs, one concrete idea, and a simple next step, with your EPK linked. Follow up once after a week. When a brand approaches you, ask what they want to buy (content, usage rights, your music, a performance) before you quote.

1. First pitch

Subject: [Your artist name] × [Brand]: an idea for [campaign, product or moment]

Hi [Name],

I'm [your name], a [genre] artist from [city]. [One line of proof: e.g. "My last single reached 40,000 listeners, mostly 18 to 24-year-olds in Bengaluru and Pune."]

I've [used / followed / been a customer of] [Brand] for [time], and I think my audience fits yours: [one line on the overlap].

An idea: [one specific concept, e.g. "a three-Reel series where I write a short song with your café's regulars, released over the week of your anniversary"].

I'd love to share a few more details. Would a 15-minute call next week work?

  5. Your timeline and budget range

Thanks,

Before you hit send

  • The brand's name and the contact's name are spelled correctly.
  • The idea is specific to this brand, not copied from another pitch.
  • Your EPK link works without a login.
  • You've checked any exclusivity you already have with other brands.

Questions people ask

Who should I email at a brand?

The marketing or brand manager responsible for the product, or the agency handling its social media. Smaller and local brands are often run by the founder, who's the best person to reach.

Should I include my rates in the first email?

Usually not. Lead with the idea and agree the scope first, then quote. If they ask, send a rate card with clear deliverables.

How do I label the content if they say yes?

Clearly, up front, with a label such as "Ad", "Sponsored", "Collaboration" or "Partnership", as India's Department of Consumer Affairs and ASCI require.
