AI is now half of new uploads on Deezer. Not half of listening.
What happened
Deezer said fully AI-generated music made up more than half of all new tracks delivered to it on peak days in June 2026, at nearly 90,000 a day. That's up from 75,000 a day (44%) in April.
The part that matters more
Fully AI music accounts for just 1 to 3% of all streams on Deezer. And Deezer says up to 85% of the streams those tracks got in 2025 were fraudulent, so it excludes them from royalty payments.
What Deezer is doing
- Removing fully AI tracks used to inflate streams.
- Removing fully AI tracks that haven't been streamed for six months or more.
- Keeping AI tracks out of its algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, as it already did.
Deezer has also tagged more than 13.4 million AI tracks since it started detecting them, and says its tool can identify music from generators including Suno and Udio.
What it means for you
The flood is real, but listeners are still choosing people. The best defence is music only you could make, and rights you can prove you own. Read the full module on AI and your music.
